DIA DISCOVERS LONG LOST DIMENSION, NO SIGN OF LUCID

Massive breaking news: the Dimension Investigation Agency just announced a major development in the ongoing case against Lucid.

According to the latest news, DIA chief Sylveran made a surprise announcement yesterday that virtually caught everyone off guard. In the announcement, he stated that the DIA, as a result of efforts made by the Lucid Apprehension Task Enforcement unit, made the discovery of Lucid's old home— the forbidden Monochrome dimension. This marks a massive development in Lucid's case which has been handled personally by L.A.T.E. and Sylveran itself.

The announcement was made via the Dimension Protection Force’s social media accounts, as well as on their website, which contains the same statement put out by the chief detective. The announcement is brief but makes it clear that Lucid's home has been found, but Lucid himself is still on the run.

“This discovery allows the DIA and L.A.T.E. to further enhance the ongoing case against Lucid,” Sylveran said in the statement, “However, the subject in question was not present nor seen in or around the dimension. Therefore, Lucid remains on the run with no arrests having been made.”

With no arrests having been made thus far, residents remain divided over this issue. On the social media platform, LiminalSpaces, divisive topics were trending— both anti-Lucid and pro-Lucid— alongside one another. “ARREST LUCID” trended alongside “FREE LUCID” in one example.

With this sudden development, it is unclear what the path for the DIA will be after this. Chief Sylveran stated that the agency would not provide any additional comments about the discovery at this time but further explained that he has contacted the Dimension Forensic Crime Unit and Dimension Patrol Unit for assistance in this matter. The Intelligence Affairs Agency has not been contacted, and when we reached out to them, could not be provided a comment at this time.

AUTUMN TO GET COOLER AS IT COMES TO AN END SOON

With November upon the dream world, the weather will slowly begin to feel noticeably different.

As Halloween festivities begin to wind down, November across the dream world is generally calm. Autumn peaked in October which means that November is the time that the season begins to slowly transition into winter. Still, there aren't any expectations for snow just yet, but it appears on the horizon.

“We're very glad that autumn looks like it should any other year. Not much is to be expected of this month but it's slowly going to get colder,” senior meteorologist at the Dimension Weather Prediction Service, Cirrus, told me, “It's still sweater weather but soon it might turn into jacket or parka weather. It's going to get cold by the end of the month and we might see snow by then.”

After last year's massive weather manipulation caused by a weather machine enabled by arrested criminal Francis Robert P. Jackson, Cirrus stated that it has been difficult for snowy dimensions to see snowfall as they would any year and blames the altering of the weather for this.

“There are some dimensions and areas in the dream world that see snow year-round but after last year's grand alteration of the weather, we haven't seen snow fall in these areas for nearly a year now,” she explained, “It may be concerning if we don't see snow fall soon in these areas but our weather models aren't hinting at anything concerning right now. It is also kind of early to make any assumptions about this upcoming winter.”

Regardless of the outcome, Cirrus does expect the dream world to get colder in the coming weeks as dense fog subsides and autumn winds down.

Dear Nate, how do people get notified of serious situations in the dream world?

Hello Al! It’s important that the public receive ways to get important information about serious, potentially emergency situations that arise. Luckily, there’s a way to get information out quickly!

The Public Announcement Transmission System, or PATS, is a broadcast system that is utilized to provide the general public with important announcements, typically alerts regarding events that could put the public in danger. The system was designed in 1978 and implemented in 1980. It began in the District dimension across a few wards before expanding to each ward by 1982. The following year in 1983, it was later begun to be implemented to the rural dream world. In various areas of the District and some parts of the rural dream world, there are even coordinated loudspeakers that broadcast these announcements. 

PATS works in different ways and in different methods. It began with broadcasts on the radio and on televisions. It would later become available on smartphones as technology advanced. PATS is mostly used by the Dimension Weather Prediction Service to broadcast weather advisories in areas that need it. On rare occasions, the DPF has used it to broadcast information such as the most recent case in 2024 with the major, crazy snow storm that took place in November! These announcements interrupt any ongoing radio or television programming to provide these messages; on smartphones, they pop up as a notification.

PATS is not necessarily an old broadcast system, but it has come a long way since it was first put in place. The system is very important as it helps the public become aware of important information for impending situations that could be serious and life threatening. Hearing announcements from the weather service is normal, but I think the ones from the DPF are more scary. Imagine back in 2022 when you had to see announcements about that nasty parasite that turned people mad…yikes!

Dear Nate, who is the man in the hat humans claim to see sometimes?

Hiya Hugh! Oh, are you talking about Klobúk? I think you might be… Well, who is Klobúk anyway? He’s the so-called “Hat Man” that some humans have reported seeing with their own eyes! Klobúk is an ancient dream demon who occasionally makes an appearance in the real world by visiting humans.

Klobúk doesn’t typically talk during his visits to humans. He appears as a tall man wearing a hat that lurks over people as they are experiencing ‘sleep paralysis’- a phenomenon caused by mischievous dream demons. ‘Sleep paralysis’ is a state in which a person is conscious to realize they are sleeping but not fully awake. In this state, they may see some strange things…including dream demons!

Klobúk himself only appears to humans who are in an altered state of mind not necessarily relating to sleep. In this altered state of mind, humans may experience hallucinations (hey that’s my thing!) and other weird visions. Klobúk will appear to them in an attempt to frighten them. Truth be told, he is only doing this to deter them from doing it again! Humans should not be able to see such things under the influence of certain substances. Klobúk is essentially their warning sign to avoid doing such things.

Most humans do not end up seeing Klobúk again, but those who do are met with stronger hallucinations and more frightening experiences. Klobúk will never hurt a human, but will attempt to persuade them to stop. He’s actually a pretty great guy if you’ve ever met him in the dream world! As for the hat he wears, well, he just really likes to wear hats. There’s not much more to it than that! I should go see what he’s been up to and ask him some more questions about the real world…
