CLUB GETS READY TO PARTY FOR HALLOWEEN
By: Oswald
The Club dimension is just about ready to hold a grand Halloween party!
According to the latest developments, Count Anastasius is ready to open the Club up to everyone and anyone who wants to spend their Halloween night in style. Having hosted this party in his mansion for many years, the switch to the Club felt different but needed.
“I think it's a way to make it more accessible for people to come and visit,” Count Anastasius said, “The Club is a very familiar place for many. I think holding the party here is right.”
Following last year's power outage incident, it has been reassured many times now that no similar incidents are expected. DPEC, the dream world's power company, reiterated their stance.
“We don't expect any sort of power outage to the Club nor the dream world in general,” DPEC chief Lumière told me, “Go out and have fun! We can assure you it'll be quite safe.”
The Club has gotten a bit of a makeover for the party, including its upstairs floor where a special dance floor was set up to accommodate more guests.
“We've had some chairs and seats moved out of the way to make room for more people to come and dance,” the Count explained, “Either the first or second floor will be accessible to all those coming to visit so they're free to party upstairs or downstairs. All is good!”
While construction for this party has been a little lengthy, the party itself will only be for one day.
“The Club has been rented out for one day: Halloween. This means that, albeit the makeover, we'll have to start taking everything down by the weekend,” the Count told me, “So please, come on out and have some fun! We would very much appreciate the company from anyone and everyone.”
For those visiting, expect moderate to heavy foot traffic in and around the dimension. Count Anastasius’ Halloween party will run for one day only. Regardless of how you spend October 31, may it be safe and filled with fright. From all of us at the Tribune, Happy Halloween!
GHOST DISTRICT TO OBSERVE ALL SOULS DAY
By: Roman
The Tribune has gotten special access into the elusive and famed Quartier Fantôme— the Ghost District!
As Halloween approaches, a very important day is also ahead: All Souls Day. This is a day when human spirits in the Ghost District make their grand annual en masse voyage to the real world to visit family, friends or to roam the world in search of thrills. Many ghostly residents down here are looking forward to this day.
“It's a very important day for many of us here as we get to go together to see our old family and friends,” Rosalva, who passed away in 1942 told me, “I have seen many of them grow up older since then but that's still my family. I care as much about them as I did back when I was alive.”
“I'm kind of new to this but it looks like everyone here takes it pretty seriously,” Jonah, who recently passed away in 2024 told me, “One day I was on my way home from school and the next I heard a car horn and then poof! I'm in the dream world! Oh… I miss my family but I can't wait to see them again as I travel with my grandparents to see them!”
While human spirits are free to go to and from the real world as much as they please, many prefer to stay down here for a majority of the time and only visit on rare occasions. Some spirits may not even go back at all! However, visiting the real world en masse is a tradition that many look forward to instead and use this one night to do so.
“I think there's a special kind of magic in the air for us spirits on a night like All Souls Day,” Cassandra, who passed away in 1989 told me, “It's heartwarming to see all of us come together to go visit the real world in search of old family, friends or maybe just to have some fun up there. Our ‘life’ down here as the dead is not bad. It's certainly more peaceful than it was up there.”
For those wishing to visit the Quartier Fantôme, you must keep in mind it is very difficult to get to, but not illegal. You'll need to find someone who has and knows a place of entry to access it. Human spirits down here do not mind visits from residents of the dream world, but please be respectful and mindful of those whose lives they once had. Enjoy your visit!
Q/A: Ask Almoral
Dear Almoral, is your necromancer job fun?
By: Deed Lee
Hello Deed! That depends on what you mean by fun! Necromancy is no easy job, nope! BUT! It is a job and hobby that requires practice, skill and risk. When I'm contacted for my services, I have to keep in mind that is still something that can be frowned upon by some people. I mean, the concept of having to raise the spirits of the dead? Wouldn't you rather let them be in peace? Well!
That also depends on the person asking for the service. Some living customers may have some unfinished business with someone they knew who passed away. Heck, maybe they wanna make amends, ya know? Other times it's just to talk to someone they miss. While the souls that are raised can exist in our world again, it's only briefly. For they too must depart again. Spirits who linger too long in the dream world will begin to fade! If you don't send them back in time, they'll fade away forever!!
I love this job and hobby! I just don't know if I can say that it's truly fun. I'll be honest, sometimes it's very fun to talk to old friends! Sometimes it's sad to see others talk to loved ones they lost. This is NOT an easy job but hey! If you ever need these kind of services, just know I got the best and most powerful services around!!
Dear Almoral, what are some tips for an ofrenda?
By: Cann Dell
Hey Cann! So you're making an ofrenda and don't know where to start? Not to worry! I'm practically an expert on this! First and foremost, find yourself a firm surface like a table to set it up. You need to think about how many people are going to be on your ofrenda so the size of this firm surface should be enough to fit all of them! Once you have that down, the rest is pretty easy.
You'll need to find pictures of the deceased that will go on your ofrenda. I recommend using pictures of roughly what they looked like when they passed away! Nothing too young that they're indistinguishable. You'll also need candles…various to light up the ofrenda and make it look awesome! Be sure to also include food and drinks. You'll want to put dishes and drinks that those on your ofrenda loved to eat. When in doubt, use pan de muertos! This special bread smells good to spirits for its aroma and they'll sure love it!!
And of course, you can forget the sugar skulls and marigolds. Sugar skulls come in various sizes, colors and fun looks! Add a couple around your ofrenda to make it look cool! Marigolds are also needed as they not only look nice, but their smell and bright colors attracts the souls of the deceased to visit your ofrenda and not to mention that it also helps guide them. Other things you could include are papel picado and little figurines of catrins and catrinas. Your ofrenda will look so awesome my friend!!
Dear Almoral, what’s your birthday wish this year?
By: Celly Brayt
What’s up Celly! Haha, that's a good question! You know, for the first time in a while, I'm not actually sure… I mean, usually I tend to ask for things like a nice skull or maybe a new cape or eyepatch, but it feels like I don't want that this year.
Hmm, you know, I've been thinking all year about the fear of Lucid getting caught. Ever since Sylveran came in, it's felt like any day now he'll have caught Lucid and have him arrested! I guess I've just been afraid of that outcome. Nothing's been more on my mind lately than Lucid. Although, hahaha, I guess he's always been on my mind, huh?
I guess… My wish for this year? Maybe, JUST MAYBE, would be to… Get a chance to talk to Lucid? I know it feels farfetched BUT! If I could have one chance to talk to him, it'd be to let him know that everything will be okay! He's smart, powerful, kind, awesome, special, and just super freaking everything that he can for sure keep evading Sylveran and the law. I mean, maybe that's too much to ask for but it's my wish, okay?! I'd do anything to talk to him again even if just once. Maybe someday we'll meet again. At least, that's what he promised me back then……
