WINTER SLOWLY COMING TO AN END AS SPRING NEARS
By: Arial
If you’re tired of cold weather, you aren’t alone.
A recent poll conducted by the Academy of the dream world shows that 62 percent of those polled have grown tired of the ongoing winter weather. Winter this year has been quite persistent but there is good news on the horizon for those in the majority of the poll: spring is around the corner.
The weather service recently mentioned the return of spring in a weather bulletin that was published over the weekend. In the bulletin, they primarily acknowledged that the winter season is slowly coming to an end. Among the explanations, they note the slow rise in temperatures.
“Temperatures in the general dream world are slowly rising although they are generally still below freezing,” DWPS senior meteorologist Neige told me, “But these freezing temperatures have been going up steadily. We expect temperatures to be generally above the freezing mark in about a week or so.”
Since temperatures will soon no longer be generally freezing, this will make conditions unfavorable for ongoing snow precipitation. With snowfall expected to subside, this also means that snow in the dream world will begin to melt as spring nears.
“When winter comes to an end, snow will stop falling once temperatures are no longer cold enough to support snow precipitation,” Neige explained, “Likewise, it also means that any snow blanketing the landscape will begin to melt steadily.”
But with the snow melting, this will make way for springtime scenery.
“Greener trees and grass are around the corner once the snow melts and it’ll be spring before you know it,” Neige said, “Just hang in there. It’s coming, we promise.”

MAIL SERVICES SEE REGULAR USE FOLLOWING VALENTINE’S
By: Oswald
The Dimension Postal Delivery Service is seeing routine service times following the end of the Valentine’s holiday.
The week leading up to and the week of Valentine’s Day saw a significant increase in clients seeking to use the DPDS for their postal services. These services were highly used to distribute Valentine’s related materials like cards, letters, and plushes. Now that the holiday came and went, the DPDS is reporting business as usual.
“We’re seeing all of our postal offices seeing their typical activity now that there isn’t any holiday going on,” DPDS chief Kaige told the Tribune, “This also includes our distribution facilities that have seen a significant decrease in material being distributed to and from them.”
The DPDS, which is the sole agency in the dream world that distributes any and all postal related materials, did get assistance in helping distribute excess mail during the Valentine’s holiday from a familiar source.
“In busy times, the DPDS gets assistance from our friends at the Pole to help distribute mail across the dream world and ease our workload,” chief Kaige explained, “Secretary Rainier and I have an agreement to assist one another during the holiday season, including Valentine’s Day. So while we help them during Christmas, they help us during Valentine’s. Likewise, we also assist each other should something arise that requires either of us to help distribute materials. It’s a nice friendship.”
The DPDS reports little delays in their services at this time. For information about correspondence such as tracking, you can visit their website or your local post office for more resources and assistance with any related service.
Q/A: Ask Nate
Dear Nate, is it easy to get into the District?
By: Enn Trance
Hi Enn! I love receiving questions about the District because a lot of them are curious! Let me answer this one as well!
As you may already know, the District is the largest dimension of the dream world, and it’s no joke! While it is an artificial dimension- a dimension that wasn’t made naturally- it serves as a home to the grand majority of the dream world. You may have already heard that the District is divided into six wards with various enclaves in them and how there’s a big wall surrounding it, but getting into the District is not necessarily difficult, but there’s a few things to know!
First off, the District’s wall has a few checkpoint gates that allow access in or out of it. These checkpoint gates are managed by patrol officers of the Dimension Patrol Unit. When you arrive at one of these gates, you will be asked to provide some form of identification. Remember, you should always carry some form of identification when traveling in the dream world…this is important! Once they verify you, you will be able to get out or into the District! If you do not have identification on you, you will be asked to step aside and wait for additional assistance before entering. Make sure you have your I.D. ready!
Second, you need to know where you want to enter before you step in. The District is divided into different wards and you want to be sure you’re not going into a ward you don’t need to be in! There are signs outside each gate that tell you what area you’re about to enter. Each ward has a checkpoint gate, but not all enclaves have one. Some more notable gates include entries into the U.S. enclave, the Chinese enclave, the Egyptian enclave, the French enclave, and more!
Third, you may need to prepare to be inspected. Keep in mind that when you present your I.D., the patrol officer will scan it into their system and if something comes up on your record that catches the eye of the officer, you may be asked to be inspected. The inspections are quick and involve searches through your belongings to make sure you aren’t participating in any illegal activity prior to entering the District. Don’t stress this part out though! Inspections are rare and only occur to those with a criminal record. If you don’t have a criminal record, you’ll be fine!
Getting into the District is not hard, but there are definitely some things to remember. I always have to pass through a gate when coming from the rural dream world to go home! The District is not a bad place to live and if you ever want to, I can give you a tour someday. My treat!
