COUNCIL TO BEGIN REVIEWING FOR POTENTIAL FRANCIS TRIAL

The Council of the dream world has received materials related to Francis Robert P. Jackson and have begun to review them.

That's according to an announcement made on the Dimension Protection Force’s website. The announcement, posted yesterday Wednesday, stated that all seven members of the Council are in possession of any and all related materials to Jackson's activities within the dream world since at least 1986. These go up until late 2025 when his interrogation took place.

It has been long since the Council has received materials from a high profile figure. Typical instances have received far less coverage from the media, but Jackson's potential trial is drawing attention from just about every form of media in the dream world, including for the first time for such a figure, social media attention.

Nothing is set in stone yet. While many are anticipating a trial, the Council must still vote for it to take place. Many legal analysts and scholars are confident that the Council will take up this case considering the significant amount of impact that Jackson's anomalies have made on the dream world.

Should the Council vote in favor of a trial, it will likely last several months. Within such a hypothetical trial, numerous witnesses and individuals will likely testify before the Council and it will likely be against Jackson. Such summons could come as soon as the following day once the vote is decided.

Even so, it is still too early to truly know what the Council will decide. Nonetheless, all materials related to Jackson are now in their hands and they must now decide where to go from here. This is a developing story. Stick with the Tribune for the latest information as it develops.

DIA QUIET FOR NOW, PROMISES MORE AGGRESSIVE REFORM

The Dimension Investigation Agency has had a rather quiet start to the year, but that may soon change.

According to internal memos obtained by the Tribune, the DIA is going to get more aggressive when it comes to reform and its crime tactics. According to a source, this includes doubling down on finding Lucid and doing whatever it is necessary to find him.

Since March 2025, it has been led by Sylveran D. Angelus— a former famed bounty hunter turned chief detective by the Council— and has been the headline for several instances of dramatic changes within the agency. These changes have been received with mixed reactions with some changes seen positively while others seen negatively.

Even so, the agency is looking to tackle crime and finding Lucid head on with more aggressiveness. In the memos received, there are a few plans that the chief detective has been considering to further pinpoint where Lucid may be hiding. The details are scarce but they include dramatic approaches to investigations within the DIA that could potentially implicate many residents who may have had previous contact or previous mentions across social media of Lucid.

No official word has come from the agency as of yet, but it is expected that they will begin announcing new policies once February rolls in. Stay tuned with the Tribune for any additional information as it comes in.

Dear Nate, how exactly does time work in the dream world?

Hiya Kloch! Ah, time, what a great construct! Created by humans as a form of keeping track, time in the dream world shouldn’t really matter. However, we too need to be organized while keeping track of the seconds, hours, weeks, and years that go by. Luckily, we have a solution for that!

The dream world operates under something called “Coordinated Universal Time” or UTC. In the real world, this invisible line is essentially halfway between all time zones there that can be used as the standards for all the other zones. Because of this, the dream world is able to set a uniform and consistent time and date for all dimensions across the dream world! Whether it’s five o’clock at the Island or five o’clock at the Motel, it’s still the same!

There are some problems with this though. Unlike the real world, the dream world does not have a day or night cycle. This means that while it may be “midnight” at the Plaza, it might be “noon” at the Pool despite it being the same universal time! Dimensions work differently in terms of day and night depending on where you go, but the time and date will always be the same!

And how do we format time and date? The date is formatted typically as MMDDYYYY, so we would say December 31, 2023 or 12-31-2024. As for time, we go from 0 to 23 for the hour and is formatted as XXh XXm; so for example, if it’s five o’clock in the morning, you would say 05h 00m or if it’s twenty past 8 o’clock at night, you would say 20h 20m. 

Time can be a little confusing in the dream world, but I hope this helps you out in any way! As a reminder, it’s important to always carry some form of time-tracking device on you. Whether it be a watch or your own cell phone, it’s important to stay up to date- pun very much intended!
