WEATHER SERVICE HINTS AT RETURN OF SNOWFALL
By: Roman
Very peculiar news coming out of the DWPS this week: snow may begin falling again soon.
The announcement came as a surprise to many who have been longing for snow to return to the dream world. Precipitation of snow has not been seen in the dream world since November of 2024 during Winter Storm Genesis. Meteorologists suggested that the grand altering of the weather during this event may have changed the environmental conditions that would’ve normally allowed for snow to fall in the winter.
“We’ve said before that we think that freak weather event caused some sort of change within the environment that may have temporarily prevented snow from falling as precipitation during that winter and this winter so far,” DWPS senior meteorologist Neige told me, “It looks like it’s been taking time for the environment to adjust again and we’re getting some interesting signs so far in our models.”
Neige said that the weather service has been running models and forecasts based on data being received from weather stations all across the dream world. While there were small hints of possible widespread snowfall, the chances are slowly growing with each passing day.
“We saw some chance of widespread snowfall soon but these were low chances last week,” he explained, “Now, the models are starting to line up more and more each day. We’re feeling confident that snow may begin to fall once more in the dream world as early as next week.”
Neige said that the models aren’t expecting anything concerning and looks to be the return of an average January.
“Unlike previous years, we aren’t seeing anything concerning in the snowfall models,” Neige stated, “It looks like it may be an average January winter with cold temperatures and average amounts of snow. Keep yourself up to date with the DWPS for the latest information.”

HOLIDAY SEASON WINDING DOWN AS CLEAN UP COMMENCES
By: Oswald
The holiday season is coming to an end in the dream world.
As dimensions across the dream world looked festive last month, they are slowly beginning to go back to normal. The Pole, which deployed workers to decorate various areas, have re-deployed workers to help take down decorations and return dimensions back to their normal looks.
“Ah, it’s always so much fun putting up decorations in the dream world but it’s always temporary!” Secretary of Christmas Affairs, Rainier, told the Tribune, “I’ve sent out workers from the Pole to start taking everything down and make sure all areas are back to normal by the middle of next week or so.”
Rainier told us that there are over two hundred areas across the dream world that the Pole helped decorate. After being granted a permit by the Dimension Protection Force to decorate these areas, the permit is set to expire by the end of next week.
“We always get a permit to decorate and alter dimensions across the dream world for the holiday season! That’s very important or otherwise we’d be breaking many rules,” Rainier explained, “That permit actually expires on the 17th so we’re getting ahead of time by taking everything done one by one. The dream world sure looked very pretty during December! Alas, all must come to an end anyway.”
The secretary told us that they expect to decorate the dream world again next December. He also told us that there were no issues in putting up decorations nor any sort of incidents during the holidays.
“We’re very much going to decorate the dream world again next December! We’re just glad there weren’t any issues with decking the halls!” Rainier said, “We can’t wait for the next holiday season! We hope to see you guys then!”
This should be the last week to view holiday sights and sounds across the dream world. Residents will have until then to view any remaining decorations before they are all taken down.

Is the dream world categorized into different areas?
By: Dee Vyde
Hiya Dee! As big as the dream world is, you'd be surprised to know that it is indeed divided into different areas! While it is hard to map out the entire dream world, what is observable and explorable has been mapped to the best of a cartographer’s ability. In fact, the dream world has been divided into different areas simply known as “regions” in the dream world. Within these regions are different dimensions and areas, which sometimes may overlap with one another.
Currently, there are 303 labeled regions within the dream world. Region 1 is the entirety of the District dimension- it's the biggest dimension after all! Some other examples include Region 25 being home to the Pole, Region 2 home to the Apartments, Region 99 being home to the Backrooms, and Region 250 being home to the Cafe!
These regions also help divide different agency offices across the dream world. For example, the postal service will distribute mail within a region from its regional post office and likewise with the weather service issuing forecast advisories from its regional office to that specific region. The same applies to DPF field offices like regional patrol stations and health laboratories. It just makes dispatching information and materials a bit easier!
Of course, these 303 regions are not the entire dream world. There is still much more to map out and explore, but it sure is a big world! At some point, we'll continue to add more regions and map out more far away areas. Lost dimensions are definitely going to stay lost for many, many years, but maybe one day we'll find a few and get them back on the map! I wonder what the first lost dimension to be found will be…
A potential makeover of the Backrooms lobby to make it look more like it did in real life. This idea didn't come into fruition but was floated as a possibility. (January 9, 2024)
