DREAM WORLD OBSERVES JOYOUS CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY

This just in: Santa Claus came to town!

According to the latest news from the Pole, Santa managed to pull off a very successful journey across the dream world last night! In total, there were 2,438,573,906 gifts delivered— a 33 percent increase from last year’s total of 1.8 billion gifts! While it is a big number, the record for most gifts delivered remains Christmas of 1999 with a whopping 2.6 billion.

Notably too, the amount of those on the infamous naughty list saw a significant decrease this year. The Pole reported that, once Santa’s journey was complete and the stats were tallied, there were a total of 96,548 who did not receive gifts this year. This is a 44 percent decrease when compared to last year’s numbers, although it doesn’t break 1999’s record of 82,739 people.

“Yes, it was a very successful Christmas indeed!” Rainier, Secretary of Christmas Affairs, told reporters at the Pole, “I’m very glad that we delivered well over two billion gifts! It’s also very satisfying to see the naughty list to have been below one hundred thousand. I’d say a pretty good holiday run all around!”

Rainier said that he hopes people will continue to do good once the new year kicks in.

“We’ll be taking a break at the Pole for a week now but do note we’ll be back to our tracking activities starting January 1!” the Secretary stated, “We worked pretty hard and are now taking some time to ourselves. Until then, have a joyous Christmas everyone! See you next year!”

LOOKING BACK AT THE ADVENTURES IN 2025

Hello there friends and readers of the Subliminal Tribune! It is I, Sir Timely, here once again to break the very fragile fourth wall in the substory section of this week’s paper!

Can you believe we’re just one week away from a new year? How crazy is that?! It feels like just yesterday we were ringing in 2025 but that can’t be possible, can it? Yesterday was not January 1, obviously, but that’s the thing about time. It flies by when you least expect it…

Anywho! We had some interesting times in 2025. Shall we break down the top five moments and events of the year? Let’s take a look…

#5: Anomalous cleanup: Starting off with this entry, there was a pretty big cleanup last April involving the removal of anomalous residual matter from Francis’ old schemes. These residues were left in the past and affecting us in the present! With a brave and determined team led by yours truly, these residues were promptly cleaned up and we got the dream world back up from its feet! There weren’t any major incidents but it sure looked pretty wacky out there!

#4: Daiki’s termination: The story ended up getting political with chief detective Daiki’s termination from his post at the DIA earlier this year in February! After refusing to reinstate Lucid’s criminal charges that he dropped in January, the Council decided to terminate him and put Sylveran in his place. Things have been…hectic at the DIA since…but I never said that! While Daiki still works at the DIA, his time there is limited…

#3: Francis’ backstory: After one long year of keeping cooped up in a cell, Francis finally got around to sitting down and giving us the backstory of his life! Through Daiki’s point of view, we heard all about Project Morpheus’ origins, Francis’ whereabouts in the dream world, and what the plans are for his future. Much of this was very eye opening information that we’ve been wanting to hear for so long! Francis’ story, though, is far from over. 

#2: The hole in the wall: In July, we took a tour of the Backrooms! With our friends by our side, we went in to explore the wonders of this dimension. A slight, forbidden detour took us down somewhere we weren’t supposed to and were face-to-face with a very scary fracture in the walls of the deep Backrooms. This concerning fracture has been kept secret but properly reported to the right authorities. No one is really sure yet what it is or why it’s there but it definitely doesn’t appear to be naturally made. I guess this is going to be important but for next year, of course!

#1: Almoral’s surprise: Perhaps the biggest event of the year was very brief! Following a pretty normal and fun Halloween holiday, Almoral is on his way back home. When he gets home, he notices a trespasser in his own cemetery! Upon closer look, it’s none other than the same person he’s been searching for for nearly one hundred years now… Lucid! Talk about a crazy reunion! Poor Almoral looked for Lucid for so long and it ended up being Lucid who went out to look for him instead. Their long awaited reunion now wraps up that little part of their story, and with Lucid’s curse lifted, it’s safe to say these two will continue a new arc in their story…next year, of course. ;-)

What was your favorite part of this past year? I think there’s many more to choose from that I didn’t list on here. Well considering that my time here is nearly up, and how I also got the role to be the substory in this edition of the Tribune, anddddd also how this is the last newspaper article of the year, it’s pretty important that I wrap this up nicely! As someone who can see into the future, all I’ll say about 2026 is that things will get rough but things always get rough before they get better! I think.

Nonetheless, our travels in 2026 will take us down new roads to trek and new places to visit. We had each other’s backs in 2025, right? The same principle applies now! So long as we look after each other next year, we will make it through that year safely and soundly. THAT I know for sure! That’s enough for me. Phew, that was a lot! I’ll surely need a “lift” soon for all of this yapping! Take care for now and I’ll see you in 2026~!
