DPF BEGINS HANDING OVER MATERIALS TO THE COUNCIL FOR TRIAL CONSIDERATION
By: Porter
The Dimension Protection Force has quietly begun to submit materials over to the Council for their consideration on initiating a trial against Francis Robert P. Jackson.
According to a source with the Intelligence Affairs Agency, several agencies have begun to hand over various classified documents and materials to the Council of the dream world to begin the initiation of a potential trial. The IAA, which had overseen cyber operations into Jackson’s activities, is expected to hand over intel it gathered from Jackson’s interrogation.
Alongside the IAA, the Dimension Investigation Agency has also begun to submit its own materials to the Council. Notably, these materials are likely related to its long investigation into Jackson since 2022. These materials, though, have been organized and sent by former chief detective Tsukanai Daiki.
The Council of the dream world must decide whether or not to take up the case based on the initial materials sent over by the DPF. The DPF is essentially sending these items as an argument for the Council to take up the case because it is worthy enough for a criminal trial. In Jackson’s case, the Council may very likely decide to do so.
“High profile cases like these are almost always accepted for trial,” Belisk, an active attorney within the District told me, “We look back at Lucid’s case and the Council spent no time in deciding to initiate a trial. I think the same will be done for Francis.”
If such a trial were to take place, it would likely last several months depending on a few factors. While it would be rare for it to last less than a month, it is not out of the realm of possibility. So far, no official statements have been put out by the DPF nor the Council but either entity should be issuing such soon. This is a developing story. SNOWY WEATHER LOOKING TO PERSIST
By: Arial
Love the snowy weather? You’re in luck. Hate it? We have bad news…
Winter weather across the dream world is likely to persist as the calendar flips over to February. According to the weather service, initial models suggested that snowy weather would have subsided by sometime early February, but recent forecast models suggest it may persist going into mid-February.
“Looks like winter weather will prolong itself going into February,” DWPS senior meteorologist Cirrus told me, “This may be good or bad news depending on who you are but meteorologically speaking, this is good!”
Cirrus explains that, after a long year of no snowfall observations, winter weather persisting in the dream world is a good sign that the environment is stabilizing itself on its own. Lack of snow would have been concerning, but ongoing snow makes it look promising for meteorologists.
“It would’ve been very worrisome if it didn’t snow this year,” Cirrus explained, “But if the forecasts hold, we would consider this a win! More snow is better than no snow.”
While more snow is expected, models aren’t suggesting aggressive amounts of snow to fall like they did in 2024.
“Luckily, with more snow expected, things are still looking pretty average!” Cirrus stated, “Snow will be on and off which will make it easy for snow plows to clear out roads and paths easily. No need to worry about deep, deep snow!”
Winter is set to persist! For the latest weather information, visit the DWPS website or your local forecasting office for more resources.
Q/A: Ask Nate
How has the Council’s reputation held together for so long?
By: Ripu Tayshun
Hi Ripu! I always like questions about the Council since they’re a pretty big deal! The Council has been around for millennia, which means the organization itself is incredibly old- older than Lucid! There are seven council members, but all of them are very secretive and reclusive. It’s hard to even photograph one! The Council is highly respected, nonetheless. They watch over the dream world very carefully to ensure full order. In order to gain public trust, they must stay out of trouble themselves and listen to what the people say.
If you didn’t know already, each ward of the District, the biggest dimension of the dream world, is looked after by its respective council member. There are six wards, which means one member for each ward; this leaves one council member who is reserved to look after the outside of the District, that is, the rural dream world itself. Each council member, in each ward plus rural dream world, is seen as the highest ranking official in their respective area and tends to matter for the area they’re in. While they do not really make public appearances, many things are handled remotely by the council-member to solve disputes or other conflicts.
This remote problem solving puts trust and respect in the eyes of residents and thus keeps the Council’s image clean. Council members must all obey the rules and refrain from acting up, as one bad apple can ruin the Council’s reputation and break public trust. If a council member does fall out of line, they are dealt with accordingly, kicked out, punished, and are subjected to other matters with the aid of the DPF- who is a hand of the Council really. This has only happened three times in recorded history, so the public does not really have problems with the Council. Of course, for big matters affecting the entirety of the dream world, the seven members convene and vote on a solution.
Seeking an audience with the Council is rare though, like, very, VERY rare! You’ll have to receive a summons to see them if they have gotten word of you, either very positive or very negative, or if you’re a human looking to return to the real world. High crimes are dealt with by a trial with the Council presiding over it, so you know, don’t do anything REALLY bad…
Of course, the Council is pretty interesting, but still mysterious. Members rarely issue public statements, they’re rarely seen, and very few have contact with them. Director Ferekides of the DPF has the most contact with them, though occasionally, leaders of other organizations get in touch with them such as the DWPS, DPDS, DPEC, etc., but even that is rare. Still, if you want to see where the Council resides, head to the District! They have their own place floating above the District way high up in the sky. You may not ever visit that mysterious building, but you sure can admire it from afar! I haven’t been there myself, but I know someone who has…
During the winter of 2024, the dream world was subject to brutally cold subfreezing temperatures instead of widespread snow. It was later revealed that Francis had punctured a hole in the Arctic ward of the District that spilled freezing air into the rural dream world.
Upcoming Events:
