SKIES GRAY UP AHEAD OF CHANGING WEATHER PATTERN

It’s looking pretty gray out in the dream world right now.

Ahead of an upcoming changing weather pattern, the skies across much of the dream world have darkened and turned gray signaling impending rain and thundershowers. This has been discussed previously by the Dimension Weather Prediction Service who have been monitoring the weather this spring season for typical rain precipitation to fall.

“Typically, we get widespread rain during the spring season which begins around the middle of April,” DWPS senior meteorologist Neige told the Tribune, “The weather pattern is running a little late this season but we’re starting to see signs that things are about to change from dry to wet.”

Along with gray skies, thunder can be heard across the dream world further signaling that rain is imminent. While there is no general weather threat at the moment, the DWPS is closely monitoring for any dramatic changes in the environment that could suggest severe weather.

“We’re not seeing severe weather at the moment in the near-term but we’re monitoring for any dramatic changes,” Neige explained, “The most we’re seeing in the near-term is light to moderate rain and thundershowers. Keep an umbrella handy once precipitation begins to fall within the upcoming week.”

COUNCIL TO FINALLY ANNOUCE DECISION ON FRANCIS

It appears like the Council of the dream world is finally about to announce their long-awaited decision on initiating a trial against Francis Robert P. Jackson.

The decision had been put on hold following the recent happenings in the dream world concerning the Box dimension leak that caused widespread strange events. The leak itself has been patched after DIA chief Sylveran returned from the Box dimension mission and the dream world has returned to normal. Since then, the Council has returned to its normal day-to-day business and is set to convene to vote on a decision.

Traditionally, all votes of the Council are decided on a simple majority. At least five council-members need to vote in favor of a trial for it to take place. In the last major trial initiation vote, which took place in 1930, the Council decided to unanimously put Lucid on trial on a 7-0 vote. It’s not clear how the Council will vote on a trial for Jackson, but many analysts are suggesting it may also be unanimous too.

Historically, council-members Shafira, Āniwaniwa, and Tezcacoatl have been more lenient on overall votes. Council-members Cornelius, Esfir and Oak have been more tough. Council-member Zhang has usually been a key swing vote in deciding some major decisions. However, with such a case like Jackson’s case, it’s likely the vote will be in favor of a trial, but still unclear as to just how each council-member will vote in the end.

Regardless, the Council is set to make their announcement in the coming week. This is a developing story. Stick with the Tribune for the latest information as it happens.

Dear Nate, is the dream world getting warmer?

Hi Clyde! This is a question that's still being studied, particularly by the Dimension Weather Prediction Service. I'll explain as best as I can! As we may know, the real world is getting warmer— this is simply a fact. There have been studies that have leaked into our world about the ongoing warming trend of the real world. When these were published to the public in the dream world, there was immediate worry in our world about how things could progress.

The DWPS has studied this particular scenario since the late 1990s. While it's been decades of research, the weather agency hasn't necessarily found anything in any climate data that suggests the dream world is getting warmer. In fact, things look pretty normal so far. That's not to say the climate hasn't changed over time. Many thousands of years ago, the dream world was quite cold! So you can argue that it's gotten warmer since that period in time, but the future is still unknown.

According to the DWPS, any significant warming of the dream world may not be felt for another hundred years or so. It's safe to say that dream world climate does change over time depending on how humans live in the real world. But any changes do take a while to occur because of time-space lag, at least that's what Lucid told me once. 

Regardless, it's still too early to know what a warming real world will have on the dream world in the short term. I sure hope that humans find a solution to slow it down up there so we don't feel it down here! Or maybe we'll find a solution when it gets to that point here? I sure hope so!
