COUNCIL BEGINS TRIAL AGAINST FRANCIS ROBERT P. JACKSON

The trial against Francis Robert P. Jackson is officially underway.

Earlier this week, the Council of the dream world began what is expected to be a very lengthy trial against who was once the dream world’s most wanted fugitive. Captured and arrested back in November of 2024, Jackson has spent his time alone in prison where he eventually was interviewed a year later. After gathering all materials related to his case, the Council reviewed them all and voted to initiate such a trial against Jackson.

The trial itself began last Monday with little incident. According to the information shared with the public by the Dimension Protection Force, Monday’s court session featured opening statements from the main plaintiffs of the case— which consisted of key leaders in various branches of the DPF— and the defense himself, Jackson. Tuesday’s session featured more of the same except opening statements were given by key figures in non-DPF agencies such as the Dimension Power and Energy Grid, the Dimension Weather Prediction Service, and others. Wednesday’s session featured opening statements from a wide array of DPF agents across various agencies while Thursday’s session had opening statements from non-DPF employees of the non-DPF agencies mentioned above and more.

This week is essentially a lot of introductions and getting to the point of what each person’s role was within January of 2022 and November of 2024 when Jackson launched several anomalies across the dream world. Following a long week of introductions, the trial has gone to recess which means that there will not be any summons or hearings until next Monday.

From the information provided to the public, next Monday will begin the first round of arguments from the DPF. The first key figure that will be testifying will be Dimension Disease Control and Protection chief Ophelia who will be presenting all materials and evidence that her agency had to gather due to Jackson’s anomalies. While testifying, Jackson will be able to elaborate, clarify, and object to any material presented to argue on his side of the case. It is important to note that Jackson himself does not have any sort of representation in the trial as he himself wished to represent himself.

Following chief Ophelia’s testimony, it was revealed that the next figure to follow behind her would be Rescue Operations Team Unit leader Finnegan. His testimony will likely take place later in the week, if not possibly next week, depending on how long chief Ophelia presents her side of the case. Following his testimony, it is not clear yet who will testify. Still, all essential and key plaintiffs will be required to be present at the trial unless told otherwise.

COUNCIL SET TO RULE TWICE ON FRANCIS

With Francis’ trial being in the news as of late, it’s important to remember what the case itself is arguing and what the possible outcomes could be.

The case officially titled, Francis Robert Peter Jackson v. The dream world, is arguing that Jackson was behind a wide array of various anomalies between January of 2022 and November of 2024 that affected the dream world in many different ways.. Because he was behind these anomalies, and as a human, the plaintiffs are asking the Council to expel him from the dream world altogether should he be found guilty of these crimes. 

Expulsion from the dream world is very rare and can only be handed down as a verdict by the Council of the dream world to human-beings. On record, there are only a mere 32 cases in which a human had to be expelled back to the real world for serious crimes committed in the dream world, the last of which occurred all the way back in 1889 in a vote of 6-1. This means it has been well over a century since the last expulsion from the dream world.

With that in mind, the Council will first have to rule whether or not Jackson is guilty of the accused crimes he committed between the time frame mentioned above. The Council will then have to rule whether or not to expel him from the dream world even if they rule guilty or not guilty. This means that the official vote could differ between both rulings. It is entirely possible that the Council could vote in a majority to formally accuse Jackson of his crimes marking him as guilty but vote in a majority to not expel him. It can also be that they vote him as not guilty but still expel him anyway. The case could also land both a guilty and expulsion verdict or a not guilty and remain verdict.

Whichever way the Council votes will still make this trial very high-profile and important. The case could also set precedent for how future incidents and cases with similar events and arguments could go. Stick with the Subliminal Tribune for the latest!

Dear Nate, how much do we know about outer space?

Hi Gal! We're going out of this world for this question, huh? Outer space is a subject that's gotten popular in recent decades- I'd say since the late 1970s! For years prior to this, there were a lot of questions and theories about the worlds away from the real world. Luckily, recent knowledge has helped us understand a bit!

From what we know, information about outer space is limited to research that humans have conducted and published. We get those publications in the dream world and research the information that's made available to us. Outer space sounds pretty big! Outside of Earth, there are other planets in the "Solar System" as it's dubbed. However, there are other celestial bodies aside from planets too!

Asteroids, comets, nebulas, black holes, galaxies, stars, and so many other features make up the vast vacuum of space. At the moment, Earth is the only planet sustainable of life in the Solar System. Humans are still actively researching the cosmos and in fact, they know more about outer space than their own oceans. Wow!

On one hand, outer space sounds amazing! So many worlds out there to see some day, but on the other hand… It also sounds kind of terrifying. No one knows if humans are all alone in the universe or if they have neighbors. I think I'm better off here in the dream world! In any case, the Universe dimension is always open to visit if you want to get a taste of space. It's out of this world (not literally)!
