NEWS FLASH: The DPF is ready for the trial against Francis Robert P. Jackson which is expected to begin next Monday. They are also preparing to release and transfer Jackson to the Council of the dream world. This is a developing story.
FRANCIS TRIAL BEGINS IN COMING DAYS
By: Porter
The long-awaited trial against Francis Robert P. Jackson is expected to begin in the coming days.
As we previously stated in the Tribune, the Council of the dream world has set the date for the trial to commence on July 6. This was set by the Council last month after months of reviewing material. With the date around the corner, some additional details have surfaced and been confirmed by the Dimension Protection Force.
First, the DPF has confirmed that the “Big Six” chiefs of the agency will be the main plaintiffs for the overall case. This includes all current chiefs, except for Dimension Investigation Agency chief Sylveran, who will instead be replaced in the case by former DIA chief detective Tsukanai Daiki— who oversaw all of Jackson’s case files while he was head of the agency. Each chief will present forth to the Council gathered evidence and materials relating to their respective agency about wrongdoings that Jackson committed that affected said agency.
Second, the same chiefs will likely argue for several days. Due to the extensive anomalies that Jackson caused, both sides will argue for days on a wide array of questions that each council-member will ask. The members of the Council will likely pursue to ask several questions which will lengthen both the time being argued by either side and the overall trial itself.
Third, additional important figures will appear before the Council. These include the leaders of various agencies in the dream world that were also affected by Jackson’s anomalies such as Dimension Weather Prediction Service director Kairós Tropos, Dimension Postal Delivery Service chief Kaige, Dimension Power and Energy Company chief Lumière, among others. They will also serve as plaintiffs in the case who will testify against Jackson.
Furthermore, other key figures will be summoned for the case including various DPF agents involved in specific cases relating to Jackson between 2022 and 2024 and other agency employees from the DWPS, DPDS, DPEC, and more. Though for these particular figures, they will act more as witnesses when they testify before the Council.
The trial is likely going to persist for several months before the Council reaches a final verdict. The final verdict will likely involve whether Jackson should be expelled from the dream world and sent back to the real world— a place he has not stepped foot in since 1986. A recent poll by the famed Academy of the dream world showed that 84 percent of those polled believe that Jackson should be expelled from the dream world. Legal analysts suggest the Council will likely vote to expel, though it’s unclear how close the final verdict will be.
In any case, the Tribune will keep our readers updated as events happen. This is a rapidly developing story. Stick with the Tribune for the latest as it happens.
SUMMER HEAT TO PEAK THIS MONTH
By: Oswald
It’s hot out there but we’re just getting things started…
The summer season is expected to hit its peak later this month. Every season is about three months long and since summer began in June, July would be its halfway point. Temperatures continue to get hotter but luckily things aren’t looking too extreme. The heat persists but it’ll reach its maximum soon enough.
“The peak of the summer season is usually around July 15 or 16,” DWPS senior meteorologist Neige told me, “Until then, temperatures will continue to generally increase before they hit their maximum. Once they do, they will gradually begin to climb down.”
The weather service predicted an average summer season and while it's far from over, the data suggests that such prediction looks to be on par.
“We haven’t seen anything extraordinary in terms of temperature around the dream world. Nothing extreme or unusual like we did three summers ago,” Neige explained, “It’s still hot out there. A bit muggy in a few areas which is making it feel hotter than it actually is.”
Neige told me that some areas have seen some relief from the heat following brief thunderstorms. He explains that the rainfall acts a bit like an air conditioner for the environment.
“Rain easily helps to cool off the environment which in turn brings the temperature down, in some cases up to ten to fifteen degrees lower,” Neige said, “Thunderstorms can act like an air conditioner, in a way, and bring relief from the heat. Of course, after the storm, temperatures will gradually increase later on. Such is the summer season.”
Summer continues on! For the latest weather information, visit the DWPS website for weather conditions, forecasts, and more resources relating to ongoing weather matters in the dream world.
Q/A: Ask Nate
Dear Nate, do you have any tips for traveling in the Backrooms?
By: Willi Gettlost
Hiya Willi! The Backrooms is a pretty big place to explore, but if you want some tips, I have a few!
My first tip to you is to make sure you trace your steps. It’s important to remember what corridor you traveled through when walking through the Backrooms. I’d recommend leaving behind some form of marker that is distinguishable to you. I’d heard people use all sorts of markers behind such as candles, paint, arrows, even food crumbs! This is important in the event you get lost and need a way to get back where you came from. Another tip is to have some sort of light with you. Whether it is a flashlight, a lantern, a torch, a lighter, a candle, or just something that emits light. While the first level of the Backrooms is typically lit, some areas are dark. If you manage to pass level one, keep in mind that some further levels might be dark. You’ll need a flashlight to see!
Along with some form of light, you will need basic survival items. I’d say something to drink, eat, and perhaps a small weapon. Keep in mind that while the Backrooms are generally safe to navigate, you may encounter a hostile resident. You’ll need to defend yourself in the event of that! Lastly, I highly recommend traveling with a friend! It’s been said that you should never traverse the Backrooms on your own. The experience might be fun, but trust me, it’s very quiet and eerie there! Having a friend or two will keep it a bit on the lighter side, but it’s also to keep you all safe.
The Backrooms is open to anyone to explore, but remember, if you end up needing assistance there, it may be difficult for the DPF— or anyone really— to come and help. Even the Dimension Guided Tour Association doesn’t offer tours there! I guess you’re better off leaving your curiosity to the side. It’s a pretty big place with a lot of secrets, but let’s just leave it to the professionals.
