NEWS FLASH: The DIA is expected to file a new order in the coming week to officially open up applications for humans to work higher positions in the agency. This would mark a dramatic shift in reversing a millennia-old policy at the DPF.
DPF DIRECTOR GIVES GREEN LIGHT FOR DIA TO LIFT HUMAN PROHIBITION FOR HIGHER ROLES
By: Porter
The director of the Dimension Protection Force, Nikolaos Ferekides, has given the green light for the Dimension Investigation Agency to lift a millenia-long ban on human-beings working in higher roles at the branch.
This comes after talks within the DIA of lifting the prohibition that affects all of the DPF. As previously stated, individual agencies can lift this ban at discretion of the branch’s top chief. While no agency has previously expressed interest in doing so, the DIA— now under the leadership of chief detective Sylveran D. Angelus— has considered to lift this ban citing an effort of “modernization”.
Now, it appears like the DIA will begin to open applications soon for humans who seek to work in the agency in official higher roles such as official detective investigators.
“We have gotten the green light to begin allowing applications for human enrollment in our most important jobs at the DIA,” chief Sylveran said in a press conference on Wednesday, “We want to expand career opportunities at the DIA and modernize our agency. I’ll soon issue an order to make this official. Along with this order, we’ve been considering a special line of work for this particular expansion.”
No details have been given about this “special line of work” but the chief detective suggests it has to do with an issue concerning the entire dream world.
“This will be a special line of work that will help out the entire dream world in the long run. I think it will be a line of work composed of both humans and native residents,” the chief detective explained, “Just stay tuned and we look forward to new recruits very soon.”
This is a developing story. Be sure to stick with the Subliminal Tribune for the latest information as it happens.
SUMMER SEASON WINDING DOWN
By: Oswald
Summer appears to be winding down after an overall average season.
The Dimension Weather Prediction Service has been monitoring seasonal conditions across the dream world and have noted that general overall temperatures are on the decline. While nothing extreme has been noted, they do acknowledge that temperatures overall compared to a week ago are about five degrees cooler. It’s a sign that summer is coming to an end soon.
“Temperatures across the dream world are around five degrees cooler than they were a week ago,” Neige, a senior meteorologist at the DWPS told me, “This is a clear indicator that summer looks like it’s slowly coming to an end which is normal for this time of year.”
When asked if the data is clearly evident, Neige says it’s a factor of visualizing the data in a graph more than actual feeling the change.
“The temperature change is going to be minute. You’re not going to feel a big difference between a week ago and now which is why it’s better to look at actual graphs and stats,” he explained, “When you look at it on a chart, you can see that the temperature goes down about half a degree to a degree every day or so. They’re very small changes you can’t feel but it’s there.”
Neige stated that thunderstorm activity also goes down as summer winds down.
“Summer is known for its sporadic and isolated thunderstorms that can happen randomly in the dream world,” he said, “But as the weeks go by, overall thunderstorm activity begins to diminish going into autumn. You can still get thunderstorms in autumn, but they become less common.
The DWPS will release its seasonal outlook for autumn soon. For the latest weather information, visit their website or your local forecasting office.

Dear Adri, what are some difficult things about building in the game?
By: Bill Din
Hello Bill! I want to say that building isn’t necessarily difficult, per se, but it does require imagination. That being said, there are some things that I find difficulty in pertaining to actually building within the workspace itself. I like things being “perfect” albeit if nothing’s ever truly perfect and there are times where I grow tired of something and end up reworking it. Let me explain a few times I’ve found difficulties in building.
I think the biggest issue for me is scaling everything just right. It’s hard for me to explain just how much this bothers me. If something isn’t scaled right, let’s say there’s a door handle that’s too low or too high, then it drives me crazy. The game’s earliest rooms have scaling issues where some doors are too big, seats are too small, or just really not proportioned correctly. I’ve later bypassed this issue by placing a test dummy to get an idea of how to scale things correctly. Even so, they are not perfectly scaled for everyone. Those with tall or short avatars will have issues fitting through places or reaching for things. I tend to scale things on the “average” avatar height, but still find difficulties to this day with this issue.
I think another issue I find difficulty with is the overall cosmetics aspect of building. A lot of rooms in the game are inspired or a direct depiction of liminal space images you may have come across upon on the internet. Getting these rooms to look exactly like the image itself is tedious work and is in no way perfect and exact. It’s why I often fiddle around with lighting, colors, shapes and other parts of the environment to get that “feeling” and make it as close as I can to what I envision for a room. Sometimes it’s tedious work to get down to the smallest details of a room and it’s the most difficult part for me. Other times, I disregard those small details because it ends up frustrating me altogether. At this point, I think you can tell I’m a bit of a perfectionist, but I do try hard to build as best as I can!
These are the two best examples I can give you as they still bother me to this day! I’ve recently been reworking Bizzy Mart itself (the actual store, not the entire game) and have found myself encountering these problems that I told you about. I just found out that there were parts of the store that were scaled horribly and I just now realized— four whole years later! These have been fixed, but I have also had issues with making the store look “good”. I know people say it looks fine as it is following its big rework in 2023, but the more I look, the more “imperfect” it was starting to look. I mean, rooms will likely keep getting makeovers the more I stare and the more that time passes, but I hope to overcome these difficulties in the future so they no longer drive me crazy!
Dear Adri, are there Easter eggs in the game?
By: Hyde Inn
Hi Hyde! It’s always fun to find little secrets within games, don’t you think? Within Biz(zy) Mart itself, there are a few little secrets that aren’t really tied to the lore or story itself. These are secrets and easter eggs that just link back to my own interests and that I felt like adding in the game for fun.
I always liked the idea of hidden rooms or areas in games that aren’t obvious but when you do uncover them, you get surprised. There’s a few of these rooms in the game worth uncovering! To begin with, there’s a badge attached to one of these rooms called “Cool for the Summer”. This badge is obtained by finding this room which is secretly placed behind a wall. The wall itself hides the room and you’ll have to walk in it to actually get it. Need a hint? Think about going up and down. Another one of these rooms is actually behind a labeled door. The door appears like it’s not passable, but if you squeeze in at an angle, you might get a little surprise…
Other types of easter eggs are often references to or callbacks to my own interests and characters. A few of the names on the behavior chart in the Class dimension are names of some of my own characters not within the Bizzy universe but in another universe of mine to another story; they also feature names to some famous celebrities! Another type of reference is the number “1213” which can be seen in some areas. Having been born on December 13, I wanted to include this number sneakily in the game where most recently, I made it part of Almoral’s address! I also made it part of the address for the psychic shop in the Sidewalk dimension if you didn’t realize!
I like including fun little easter eggs of references to my own personal interests and life in the game, but many times they go under the radar. Without context, you might be looking at a number with seemingly no importance or you might find a room that feels random. You can also find images around the game of things I like, pictures with friends, pictures of pets, and a lot more fun things! I think the most recurring thing in the game that seems to be plastered everywhere are colors, but I think I’ll save this talk for another time…
