BACKROOMS TOURS SET TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK
By: Porter
Everything is just about set for the Dimension Forest and Parks Service to begin holding tours in the Backrooms next week, and if you’ve been online, you know it’s all the hype right now.
The Backrooms has long been a dimension full of mystery, rumors, and wonder, but that may all come to an end soon. The DFPS is almost ready to open up tours to the public and any mysteries, rumors, and wonder may be put to rest upon doing so. Long has the dimension been discouraged from visits, but the Dimension Protection Force is allowing the DFPS to allow people in, albeit through guided tours.
“We’re almost ready to open those imaginary gates and allow people to take guided tours in this big, strange place,” DFPS chief Ahwi said, “I’m actually kind of excited if I’m being honest. I think we may pull this off just nicely!”
When asked about the tours itself, chief Ahwi stated that DFPS rangers have been given scripts for information about the different areas they will be visiting. The chief also stated that the guided tours will follow strict routes and that rangers have been given maps detailing where to go.
“It’s a maze in there, but our rangers have been given maps following our initial visits a few weeks ago,” the chief explained, “We know it will be easy to get lost in there, but we have placed trail markers and lots of directional and informational signs so people don’t get lost. As long as people stay on the marked trails, they will not get lost.”
While mentioning that the layout of the Backrooms is a maze, the chief doesn’t think there will be any major problems.
“We scouted the dimension and there are plenty of signs to tell people where to go. I don’t think there will be any major incidents,” chief Ahwi said, “Seriously, you shouldn’t get lost if you follow the trail lights and pay attention to any signs posted. Think of it like exploring the outdoors of the wilderness. There’s plenty of trail lights and signs out there too and if you follow those, you’ll be okay.”
The DFPS expects tours to begin next week.
“Yes, tours should be opening up sometime next week,” chief Ahwi stated, “We’ve seen lots of public interest this year following this new inclusion of the Backrooms so if you’re truly curious and want to go on an adventure this summer, consider booking a tour to the Backrooms!”
Visitors can book a tour on the DFPS website or by dialing *3377 and then dialing 2 after being prompted. This is a developing story. Stick with the Tribune for the latest information as it happens.
NEW INFORMATION ABOUT BACKROOMS LANDMARKS
By: Oswald
The DFPS has begun teasing a few landmarks that they have prepared visitors to see when taking tours next week.
According to their website, the Backrooms has gotten its own special section filled with general information about the dimension, including new information about certain landmarks they think are worth visiting. While these are not all of the landmarks in the dimension, the DFPS may look to expand to more areas should this year prove to be successful.
Below are some of the areas the DFPS has teased on their website. To note, all of these areas are in “level 1” of the Backrooms, which is currently the only level that the DFPS will be allowing tours in.
Arthur G. Wells Gallery: Take a tour of the Arthur G. Wells Gallery this summer! Named after a human explorer who stumbled into this dimension, this exhibit features photographs taken by Wells through his camera lens as he explored the Backrooms. While his whereabouts are unknown, his photographs show the uniqueness and sometimes unnerving atmosphere this dimension has to offer.
Mick’s Cafe: Satisfy your hunger by visiting Mick’s Cafe! This peculiar restaurant located deep in the Backrooms was built as a safe point for travelers to stop by for a bite and drink should they find this stop. While the cafe has received little visits since opening in 2020, it’s expected to receive more visits soon from tourists!
Tabelle Burst Falls: Watch your step, it’s slippery! An unnaturally made waterfall was formed in the Backrooms following a human explorer’s attempt to find water in 2022. While she has been marked safe since, this unique waterfall was left as is to let any future explorer, or tourist, stop by for a drink (yes, the water has been tested and is safe for consumption).
Nicholas Genovese Chapel: Shh, please enter this landmark with respect. Constructed in 2021 by human explorer Nicholas Genovese, this landmark served as a refuge for those who were lost and needed a space to reflect and find hope in a strange, new world. Genovese has since returned to the real world, but his chapel remains open to those who look for light and hope in a new, strange world.
These are just some of the landmarks the DFPS has teased with more yet to be revealed. You can visit these landmarks and more once they begin holding tours in the Backrooms next week. For more information, please visit their website.
Q/A: Ask Nate
Dear Nate, can people have naturally abnormal hair colors in the dream world?
By: Harry Dye
Hi Harry! The concept of someone having an abnormal hair color…hmm, I mean, it depends on what you mean by “abnormal” because I think I’ve seen hair of just about every color around here!
If there’s one thing that humans always wonder when they travel the dream world, it’s probably the thought of people’s hair colors. No really! For them, it must be odd to see someone with bright pink hair, bright red hair, or even rainbow hair. I myself have red hair and some of my friends have “abnormal” hair colors too! Take my friend Dylan for example, he has pink hair! Oh and my friend Almoral? He has a green ombre hair color! And I know what you’re still thinking, “is it natural though?”
In their cases, yes! Both of them have natural hair colors. You see, it all comes down to genetics. Over the many thousands of years of the dream world existing, it has come to the point that just about every species here has some “abnormal” color for any physical feature and hair is one of them. People can have naturally blue hair just as they can have naturally blonde hair. Of course, we can always dye our hair a different color, but many of us stick with our natural hair color. Don’t get me started on eye color…that’s also the same logic!
I know it may be odd seeing people with hair colors not natural in the real world, but trust me, we got hair colors of all colors down here! If you find someone with a hair color that isn’t dyed, there’s a 99.9% chance they’re not human. After all, humans still produce natural hair colors for the most part, so what’s odd to you may be normal to us. Do you think I should dye my hair? I’m not sure what color I’d even pick. So many colors to choose from!
Dear Nate, how do you even exit the Backrooms?
By: Havta Leav
Hi Havta! Ah, the Backrooms is a very large dimension, isn’t it? It’s one of the most well-known dimensions in the real world. Humans have many perceptions and misconceptions about the Backrooms, such as the idea that there is no "exit" in the Backrooms. Rest assured, there technically is!
All levels of the Backrooms have several exits that take you to the next level. There are a LOT of levels to the Backrooms and each one is different from the other. Within each level, there are multiple doors that are labeled as ‘fire exit’ that all lead to the next level of the Backrooms. You kind of have to stumble upon them as they’re scattered throughout a level. You might be in there for a while until you find a fire exit…
Now, what about actually leaving the Backrooms? Well, your best bet is to find a level that passes through another dimension. Some levels of the Backrooms pass through other dimensions of the dream world. The ‘soonest’ level that can get you out of the Backrooms dimension entirely is on level five. Level five passes through the Hotel dimension and there’s actually an area in the Hotel dimension that’s closed off because it leads to the level five of the Backrooms! If you manage to find the actual exit to the Hotel dimension in level five, you’ll be out! Though keep in mind that this particular exit isn’t labeled as ‘fire exit’ at all. You have to be lucky to stumble upon the exit to the actual Hotel, but this is your earliest chance of actually leaving the Backrooms. You just have to make it to level five!
Of course, the easiest way is to find Fig in level one of the Backrooms. They opened up a bunch of portals to get out of there quickly! Gotta hand it to Fig, they really are a lifesaver!
