NEWS FLASH: The DPF has temporarily closed off the Backrooms to visitors as the DFPS conducts surveys to train rangers and map out guided tour routes. The agency expects to re-open it to tours in the coming weeks.
DFPS RANGERS GIVEN ACCESS TO BACKROOMS

Following the green light given to the Dimension Forest and Parks Service to allow guided tours in the Backrooms, rangers of that agency have begun to make their way into the dimension.
This is ahead of official tours beginning in the next few weeks. The DFPS explained that they’re currently surveying the layout of the Backrooms to place trail markers and note other landmarks down for rangers to use in their tours.
“In order to provide the best experience suitable for visitors and hikers, we will be surveying the dimension to note important areas and place down trail markers to avoid visitors and our rangers from getting lost,” the DFPS stated in an announcement on their website, “This process will take us about two weeks and our rangers will be trained accordingly as well.”
This would mark the first time that the agency will hold guided tours in an indoor setting. While some residents have called it odd, others are looking forward to seeing what tours in this dimension will hold.
“I think it’s great that they’re holding tours in the Backrooms,” Miguel, a resident from the America ward said, “I’ve always been curious about what’s in there. Lots of stories, but it’ll be worth visiting to see if the tales are true!”
“People think it’s strange, but a little curiosity never hurt anyone,” Leah, a resident in the Apartments said, “I plan on taking a tour there once they become available. As long as the rangers are trained well, then I won’t worry.”
“Ha! I bet you I could navigate the Backrooms with my eye closed!” Almoral, a local necromancer told me, “Actually, uh, maybe not. But I’d love a good challenge! I can’t wait to go visit!”
The DFPS stated that visitors can choose from taking outdoor tours, indoor tours, or a hybrid of both in the coming weeks.
“Currently, we are only providing outdoor tours of the wilderness but will soon provide the indoor tours of the Backrooms,” the agency said, “However, visitors can also book hybrid tours that will consist of a multi-day expedition in the outdoors of the wilderness and the indoors of the Backrooms. Details to come soon.”
The DFPS asks visitors to book a tour on their website or by calling their agency hotline by dialing *3377 and then dialing 2 after prompted. This is a developing story. Stick with the Tribune for the latest.
CRIME INCREASES IN JULY, FINGERS POINTED
By: Porter
The Dimension Investigation Agency has released the official numbers for the month of June and fingers have begun being pointed.
According to the latest report, overall crime in the dream world increased in June. This comes after three consecutive months of decline in crime to which the agency has credited chief detective Sylveran’s policies as a result of it. Now, the agency seems to be pointing blame in the halted and now stalled order issued in May that targeted former criminals.
“Crime in June increased twenty-three percent in comparison to May’s numbers,” DIA spokesperson Kristopher Levy said in a press conference earlier this week, “This is not what we wanted to see, but you know, the chief had an order locked and loaded to handle this and it got halted and now it’s stalled.”
When asked if the order itself is to blame for this rise in crime, Levy suggested, but stopped short from giving names to blame.
“The order was to both clean our streets and to deter future crime, but it was too ‘controversial’ so now we’re stuck with trying to water it down because it was halted,” he said, “I’m not blaming anyone, but if we want to see results, we need to be tough and firm.”
While chief Sylveran has been in the post for about four months now, the agency has dramatically shifted in a different direction following former chief Tsukanai’s termination. While the agency has been in the newscycle more as of late, the chief detective still maintains a steady positive approval rating of 54 percent, according to a survey conducted by the Academy.
Regardless, the DIA says it will continue to work on the ongoing stalled order and looks to see a decrease in crime in the next report.
“We’ll continue working on this order, tweak it, and hopefully see better results next month,” Levy said, “The chief detective has been working hard lately in his case against tracking down Lucid. We’ll bring any updates as they occur.”

Q/A: Ask Nate
Dear Nate, does the dream world have an atmosphere?
By: Nye Troginn
Hiya Nye! It’s common to think that the dream world has an atmosphere since our world is very similar to that of the real world. In the real world, there is an atmosphere on Earth that consists of different layers. What about the dream world? Do we have an atmosphere?
To answer your question, no, we don’t! Surprised? We technically don’t have an atmosphere here in the dream world like that of the real world. We simply refer to our “atmosphere” as the environment! Within this environment, it encompasses all of the dream world— yes, every little nook and cranny! Our weather also occurs within this environment, though it varies with latitude. There is a certain point where weather can no longer occur known as the “environmental limit.”
While no official atmosphere, our environment has similar properties to that of the real world. It consists of about 60 percent nitrogen, 35 percent oxygen, and the rest being miscellaneous gases. Unlike the real world, our air is pretty clean! Actually, it’s much cleaner than the real world and I suppose that’s one reason why a certain someone was so determined in taking over the dream world last year…
Well, he’s old news! So no, we don’t have an actual atmosphere, but the air around us is known as the environment of the dream world with similar properties like Earth! Keep in mind the dream world isn’t a planet, so it’s why we don’t have a full atmosphere. Could you imagine if the dream world was a planet? Lots to think about…
Dear Nate, what is your favorite season?
By: Sol Stiz
Hi Sol! Ah well, there’s four seasons to choose, and they’re all so pretty in their own ways! Let me think and give an explanation for each season...in my opinion, of course!
Spring comes and all the flowers start blooming. It’s also when the Garden Dimension comes and so many people get to frolic through the flowers! While I like this season, it does trigger my allergies, so I think I’ll pass on this one. Meanwhile, summer is hot! What better way than to head to the Beach Dimension and catch a wave, or sit by the water. This dimension is really relaxing, but I’m not really a big fan of the heat, so I will pass on this one too.
Autumn is so beautiful. The air gets crisp, and the leaves start falling. Not only that, but it’s when things get spooky and when the pumpkins start appearing! Coincidentally, my birthday sometimes falls on the first day of fall, so wink wink! There’s also winter which is another beautiful season. While the trees lose their leaves and look bare, the snow falls and in comes all of the holiday dimensions. I love the cold, and this scarf keeps me comfortable! The only thing I don’t like about winter is how all the flowers go to sleep. Very sad to see!
I guess my favorite season has to be autumn then! There’s nothing more incredible than seeing how the leaves of trees change color and then fall to the ground. I love it so much! I’d love to know what your favorite season is so let me know!
