SUMMER MAY BEGIN WITH UNUSUAL RARE EVENT

By: Porter

The Dimension Weather Prediction Service is expected to unveil their seasonal outlook for the summer on Saturday, but dream world residents are getting word of an unusual "rare" event that may kick off summer...

While the weather service has not confirmed it yet, there is a rumor that an aurora light show is expected to take over much of the dream world in June! These types of events are usually only seen during the holiday season- in December- but meteorologists at the DWPS have been calculating and crunching the numbers during the last two weeks. Yet, why was this rumor started?

Reportedly, the real world experienced a rather dramatic geomagnetic storm as a result of intense, and unusually strong solar storms that hit Earth last month. Millions around the real world saw auroras in the night sky as a result of these storms! With this in mind, meteorologists in the dream world have been trying to calculate if these auroras would manifest themselves down here.

"There's a good chance that we may see auroras in the dream world soon enough," Delilah, a nostalgist, tells me, "When enough humans witness a grand event, they begin to collectively dream and reminisce about it. If the rumor is true, we may witness a very rare event down here in June!"

Delilah explains that as a result of "time-space lag," the dream world usually experiences such grand events later on than immediately.

"We don't always experience such events in our world immediately because there is a 'buffer' or 'lag' between time and space from the real world to ours," Delilah explains, "It's rare to feel immediate effects, but when word comes out of a grand real world event, we have minds down here who begin to calculate and crunch numbers to see what and when it will happen."

It's expected that the DWPS will confirm whether or not the dream world will see auroras in the sky next month sometime in the coming week. They are currently reviewing data and making final predictions for the summer season in order to release their seasonal weather outlook.

"We're aware of the aurora rumour," senior meteorologist Neige said, "However, we are currently focused on getting the final report for the summer seasonal outlook. We'll confirm anything else once we release this report."

SEVERE WEATHER THREAT OVER FOR THE MOST PART

By: Arial

Weather across the dream appears to be settling down for the most part.

May proved to be one of the wettest months so far- according to the weather service. Many dimensions saw record breaking precipitation observations for the month of May. It rained for a grand majority of the month before beginning to settle down in the past week.

With weather calming down, the DWPS has lowered their severe weather risk back down to "low." For the last three weeks or so, it had been set on "medium," but the agency has since acknowledged that the severe weather threat is now over for most areas. Now, they are looking over the data and storm reports to see how the spring season played out in its final month.

"It's incredible that spring started off quite slow, but then ended with a lot of rain!" senior meteorologist Cirrus said, "It goes to show you that seasons may be hiding more than they show off at first. What a rainy season!"

In terms of severe weather, the DWPS monitored all corners of the dream world during the season and promptly alerted the public in areas where weather got intense. The DPF's rescue operations team has stated that they did not encounter grand injuries or deaths following all of the weather.

"I'm still filing the paperwork for this month's ROTU report, but things look good!" Leader Finnegan told me, "We had storms roll by the District that produced flooding, hail, and tornadoes, but no deaths were reported! A few people were injured, but thankfully none were severe and everyone is recovering. Our team did a good job and the public really heeded those warnings well!"

As skies turn back to normal, many residents are looking forward to the summer season.

"Summer also brings those pesky thunderstorms, but at least it's not everyday," one resident told me, "I just want a week without rain! I'm sick of it!"

"I can't wait for summer because that's when it's the perfect time to go on vacation!" a local jogger said, "I could sure go camping this year. Summer's the best time to do it!"

"As long as there aren't any tornadoes," one resident from the Texas neighborhood in the District tells me, "I hate getting those weather alerts on my phone. So scary!"
