MONOCHROME GANG TO STRIKE AGAIN

It looks like this month won’t be without events…

According to posters that were recently put up around the dream world, the so-called “Monochrome Gang” is looking to start painting rooms around the dream world black and white again for a fourth year in a row! While they consider themselves as a gang, they are actually not notorious or ill-spirited. Rather, they are merely a group of individuals who look to provide fun during this time of year.

The head of this gang is a local dream demon named Charlie, and while he cannot physically speak, he is definitely excited for what’s to come.

“I’ll go ahead and speak for him when I say that he’s quite excited for what we got planned!” Felix, one of the members in this gang told me, “We got plans to paint different areas of the dream world black and white, y’know, monochrome! It’s gonna look pretty odd!”

Felix said that the proper paperwork has been filed with the DPF in order to actually commit to these plans.

“Oh right, we had to get permission from the DPF to be able to do this, duh,” Felix explained, “Yeah we’re a gang, but we have morals! We do this for the funnies!”

He later explained that this event has been organized since 2022 as a result of the dismal weather affecting much of the dream world.

“It’s raining cats and dogs out there! It’s really not the best of times for people to be enthusiastic about things, but hey here we are!” He said, “That’s why we’re providing a bit of fun by giving rooms a new makeover to match the mood. I mean, we’ve seen people be so fascinated by the simplicity of monochrome rooms. It’s great!”

Felix expects all the areas they plan to paint to be completed by next week.

“I say give us about a week while we get our supplies and start painting the dream world without color,” Felix said, “It sounds kind of evil, but believe us, we got no bad intentions! We just want people to have some fun while the weather is gloomy. Everyone’s welcome to join in! Turn those frowns upside down and have fun!”

IAA PROVIDES FIRST INFO ABOUT FRANCIS SINCE OPERATION BLACKOUT

In breaking news from earlier today, the Intelligence Affairs Agency of the DPF has come out with its first batch of information made public about Francis Robert P. Jackson.

For those who don’t recall, Jackson was the culprit allegedly behind various anomalies that affected the dream world from 2022 up until his arrest in November of last year. It should be stressed that, for legal reasons, he has not been found guilty for said crimes, so these are alleged crimes that he committed. Nevertheless, his arrest in November was as a result of Operation Blackout led by former chief detective Tsukanai Daiki and current IAA chief Kamaria.

Chief spy Kamaria spoke today at a press conference alongside DPU chief officer Matías and DIA chief detective Sylveran discussing a wide range of topics. Chief Kamaria spoke today on the ongoing incarceration of Jackson since his arrest last year.

The IAA chief made clear that Jackson remains locked up and is given routine attention to make sure he is doing fine and not planning on escaping. He is currently locked up at “The Brick”— the unofficial name given to the prison facility that houses dangerous criminals in the dream world. While there have been attempts to communicate with Jackson, chief Kamaria stated that any attempts have failed.

“We have attempted to communicate with Francis directly, but he refuses to speak to anyone,” she said, “It has been almost six months since his arrest and he remains stubborn. However, I believe he is close to finally wanting to sit down and be interrogated. We’ll have to wait and see.”

When asked if any sort of harsh methods have been used to get him to talk, chief Kamaria said no, but it has been floated around recently.

“No, we don’t want to use harsh, forceful methods to get him to talk to us. It would go against our beliefs and policies, but recently it’s been floated around primarily by the chief detective here,” Kamaria said.

“Yes, I’ve suggested that idea,” chief detective Sylveran said, chiming into the discussion, “Using force to get people to talk has always worked. I don’t know why that’s a controversial belief because it’s true. I’m not the one to call the shots there as this is primarily in the hands of the IAA, but it’s just a suggestion.”

Chief Kamaria states that besides Jackson being in stable condition and refusing to speak to anyone, she believes that the individual will be interrogated soon before the Council takes it upon themselves to schedule a hearing.

“We have to interrogate the individual first before the Council can call forth a court hearing. Individuals with serious, high charges typically skip lower court hearings and go straight to the Council,” she explained, “But again, we must speak to him first. It’s been a prolonged process, but we’re getting closer. Any information will be provided to the public when it is deemed okay to do so.”

Hello Annie. Yes they do. Animals from the human world exist in our world because of manifestation and human memories. Just like dimensions, they can exist in our world because humans recollect a lot of things from their memories that kind of just end up manifesting animals. That includes dogs, cats, fish, turtles, butterflies, bees, lions, elephants, spiders, etc. However, most animals stay in certain dimensions and don’t wander off. And of course, the dream world has its own species of animals too.

Dear Epsilon, what’s with all the eye symbolism throughout the dream world?

Hello Eycee. Ah, so you might’ve taken notice of how you see eye symbolism and imagery throughout the dream world. Whether it be on posters, walls, graffiti, or organisation logos, they definitely do appear quite literally anywhere.

The recurring imagery and symbolism is there for a reason though. Think about the last time you’ve had a vivid dream- you know, the type of dream that you can recall once you wake up. Did you ever feel something in particular? Perhaps, like someone or something was in there with you…watching?

The whole feeling of being watched in a dream is all too familiar for many. For millennia, humans have felt this way about dreams. The dream world would then take this and kind of roll with it. Feel like you’re being watched in dreams? Well, don’t worry, let’s make it our brand.

I suppose, in a weird way, it’s like an inside joke of some sort. The dream world is literally based on dreams and memories, and if humans feel like something is watching, then why shouldn’t there be a lot of eye imagery and symbolism across the dream world? Many organisations have an eye in their logos. The DPF, DWPS, DPEC, the Council’s logo, heck, even the Subliminal Tribune’s logo has one. 

Though, this begs the question: are we literally and actively being watched in the dream world? That’s difficult to say. Technically, we already are when we use the internet. The DPF does monitor certain users more than others if they have a PIA (Peculiar Internet Activity) accusation against them. The DPF’s IAA is in charge of monitoring this type of behaviour, but they also do send out spies and informants to collect intelligence, though mostly when they suspect someone of any wrongdoing.

And yes, there are security cameras around the dream world- though they are mostly to monitor crime. I say mostly because even I have some scepticism. I do not think the dream world is living under a 1984 Big Brother type of novel— no, it’s nothing like that, but the eyes you see around the dream world do make it feel like we are being reminded that we are being watched- whether it be literally or just a part of the brand. Eyes are everywhere and I guess we’ll see if the truth ever comes out.

Dear Epsilon, what do you plan to do on your birthday?

Hello Bea. This year for my birthday, I’m planning to spend it at Almoral’s place alongside Dylan and of course, Almoral. Normally I spend it with Dylan, but I felt compelled to spend it as our little friend group. I’m not sure what they have in store for me, but I know it’s going to be pretty fun. Dylan and Almoral are both fun people to have around so I know they’ll definitely be planning some sort of surprise…but also fun activities. It won’t be the first time that my birthday party will take place at his mansion, but it’s always a fun time when it takes place here. If you’re nearby, you should definitely stop by. You can’t miss it.
